Born on 15 May 1964, Vice Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi joined the Executive Branch of the Indian Navy on 1 July 1985. He served as Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Naval Command before taking over as Deputy Chief of Naval Staff.
