It seems that the epicenter of the earthquake was near the Durgabai Deshmukh College of Special Education in Dhaula Kuan. There is a lake in the area, which experiences low-intensity earthquakes once every two to three years. In 2015, a magnitude 3.3 earthquake was recorded at this location.
